Croke Park will play host to 150,000 fans of Westlife this evening and tomorrow as the band takes to the biggest stage on its Twenty reunion tour.
Reviews from the five sold out shows they played at the Belfast SSE Arena at the start of the tour were strong with fans hailing the bands longevity and still being able to hold a crowd in the palm of their hand.
They have created a specific stage for Croke Park which has been built upo during the week and will have a second element bringing the band members into the crowd for this that have pitch tickets.
Support acts Wild Youth and James Arthur will open the show with Westlife on stage at 8-30 tonight and 8-15 tomorrow.
So far the set list has included a Queen medley and finished off with World of Our Own.
No material from the new album expected ion November has been tried out yet but that may change for Dublin where the band have promised ‘something special.’
These two concerts are the last on the European leg of the tour before they head to Thailand, Malaysia, Macau, Taiwan, the Philippines and Singapore for three weeks.
Merchandise for the 20 Tour is understood to have sold well. It includes socks at €17 all the way up to an official tour onesie which can be yours on site or via the bands website for €92.
