The organisation, which is holding its eighth Irish Film Festival in London in November is also currently looking for a sponsorship specialist to join the Board.
Turvey has more than 15 years of communications experience, including more than 10 years in agency PR in both London and Dublin with FTI, Powerscourt and Pembroke Communications
“Since our inception in 2011, we have delivered some incredible events and made fantastic strides in supporting the Irish film industry – in all its guises – in the UK,” said Irish Film London Founder Kelly O’Connor.
“As we move towards our tenth anniversary we have big ambitions to grow this organisation even further and with Claire on board we’ll be in a stronger position to do just that.”
“Claire will help us to raise our profile among the UK community, to attract bigger audiences and build the UK’s engagement with the incredible output that Ireland is producing right now.”
“There is an immense amount of talent in Irish film, which is enjoying the greatest success in its history, but there is much more to achieve,” added Turvey.
“The UK is an important platform to enable Ireland’s talent to be recognised and to reach its potential, and hopefully in this new role I can contribute to that, building on what Kelly and the team have already achieved in the last eight years.”
