The SSE Arena in Belfast has had a busy morning announcing three major events in August, September and October 2018.

Iron Maiden will play the only Irish date of their European Tour at the Belfast venue on Thursday, August 2nd.

“I don’t want to give too much away at the moment but we’re working on a number of different stage sets, all in keeping with the Maiden tradition and we hope to give our fans a fantastic experience when they come to see this very special show,” said Iron Maiden manager Rod Smallwood.

That will be followed by Walking With Dinosaurs, based on the BBC Television Series, which will be staged over three nights from August 31st to September 2nd.

The show has been staged in 206 cities across Australia, the United States, and the UK and seen by over 7 million people since it first came to the stage in Sydney in 2007.

The third major announcement of the day saw Jeff Lynne’s ELO confirmed to appear at the SSE Arena on Friday, October 26th.

SSE Reward members can book tickets for the shows from tomorrow morning at, emphasising the benefits the brand is driving for its own customer base through the naming rights deal with the venue.

Tickets will go on general sale for the three events on Friday 17th November and Friday 24th November.
