RTE are providing a glimpse into the world of media buying with two major opportunities to buy advertising being publicly offered through its Media Sales division.
The ability to ‘own’ RTE’s coverage of the Ploughing Championships over three days in September will give plenty of exposure incorporating overall sponsorship of all TV, Radio and Online coverage as well as a presence at the RTE stand and in the RTE Guide.
It will include 12 stings on TV, 60 promos on radio and full page takeovers online among the many elements wrapped up in the deal.
The price being quoted comes in at €106,000 and it will be interesting to see who eventually ends up sealing the deal.
Sport is even higher priced with spot rates for the Rugby Autumn Internationals also on sale.
RTE held onto these rights despite losing out to TV3 for the 6 Nations and the game against the All Blacks on Saturday, November 17th will be a major draw.
A thirty second TV spot during the game would set you back €25,000 or if you want one in each of the three games, adding Argentina and the US into the mix you can get a package for €40,000.
With a large audience guaranteed and the live experience an important element for most it will likely shift quickly, particularly in a key sales period leading up to Christmas and a strong period for car sales marketing.
