RTÉ is advertising for a new Deputy Head of Scheduling who will have responsibility for management and strategy around the daytime output on both RTE One and RTÉ2.

The successful person will report to the Head of Scheduling and to the Director of Audiences, Channels and Marketing Adrian Lynch.

This gives a strong indication that the role will have a twin responsibility to being commercially attractive while at the same time staying true to RTÉ’s public service remit.

Among the areas which are listed in the job posting on the RTE website are the need to construct a competitive daytime schedule, when required, for both RTÉ One and RTÉ 2; Maintain a competitive share performance on RTÉ One and RTÉ 2 daytime schedule and to maintain an in-depth knowledge of the current Irish television market, including the schedules of all major competitors.

The closing date for applications is August 27th which gives plenty of time for those who would consider themselves to have a chance to get their credentials in order.

RTÉ will unveil it’s Autumn schedules on Thursday, August 16th and Entertainment for Business will be there to report on what’s new and what will be of interest from a sponsorship perspective.
