RTÉ has today announced an official partnership with University College Dublin backing RTÉ Radio 1’s newly devised Davis Now Lectures.

Taking inspiration from the long-running Thomas Davis Lectures series, The RTÉ Radio 1 Davis Now Lectures 2019 in partnership with UCD will bring newly-commissioned lectures from some of Ireland’s finest scholars, artists and thinkers to audiences throughout the country. Tickets are free.

Five lectures will be recorded on location around Ireland in July for future broadcast on RTÉ Radio 1 as five hour-long edited programmes. Each of the lectures is followed by contributions from invited guests, followed by a Q&A with the audience.

The 2019 series presents aspects of Making Home by contributors renowned in their fields of architecture, history, technology, arts and economics.

The first will be recorded on Wednesday, July 17th at Callan Workhouse Union in Kilkenny
and cover Bricks, Mortar and Data: Technology and the Smart Home.

The remainder of the programmes will be recorded in Limerick, Donegal, Dublin and Cork.
