Other Voices is to return to the Electric Picnic this year though it is not yet clear whether eir Will be continuing as the sponsor of the Festival.

Originally created in Dingle the Other Voices ‘brand’ has gone on the road and into multimedia with breakout festivals in New York, London, Derry, Austin, at the Latitude Festival and since 2014 at the Stradbally event.

Hozier, Glen Hansard and Annie Mac have appeared previously at Other Voices and this year’s line up has been partially announced with BBC Radio One’s Huw Stephens acting as host to acts including WhenYoung, Soak and Stella Donnelly.

The Casa Bacardi line up was announced earlier this week as the Picnic seeks to maintain its prominent position among Festivals.  It sold out quickly when tickets first went on sale but future years may not be so easy with the AllTogether now Festival in Waterford new to the scene this year.

Other lifestyle elements that the Electric Picnic has been famed for introducing have also been adopted by Festivals including the Energia Groove event taking place this weekend at Kilruddery House in Wicklow.

eir Sponsored last year’s Other Voices Festival in Dingle and brought in innovative recording studios to gain real traction on social media. The brand is not yet associated with the stage at the Electric Picnic though is still listed as a partner on the Other Voices main website.
