He may not be there in person but Michael Jackson will be present in Spirit when his brothers take to the stage at Beatyard in Dun Laoghaire tomorrow night.

The Jacksons are headlining the opening night of the Festival and have promised that their brother’s songs will be part of the show in sound as well as vision.

Jackson was a regular visitor to Ireland and lived here for a spell in 2006.

In 1998 he played two sell out shows at Pairc Ui Chaoimh.

There will be more nostalgia on stage as well with the Wailers appearing on the same bill.

The Festival is stretching its identity this year with Eatyard including the presence of Red Bull and Fevertree, Bantaeryard, Studioyard and Kidsyard.

It promises to be a big winner for Dun Laoghaire, especially with the sunshine set to return.
