The Laya City Spectacular lived up to its name in Dublin over the weekend and will head to Cork next weekend.

An expected crowd of 260,000 over the two weekends is a mighty number to have come to play and the reaction to the Dublin leg over last weekend was very strong.

Laya is the top line sponsor but the Spectacular has also brought in brands from Tesco and Just Eat to Dublin City Council, Cork City Council and Volkswagen.

A free Festival is always going to attract numbers but this is on a vast scale and with over 300 performances from magic and trapeze to music and play it is a pretty unique occasion.

Upping sticks and staging it again in a second city only five days after dimantling is more akin to a Rock tour like Ed Sheeran’s than a Festival making every decision that little bit sharper.

It all takes place in Cork’s Fitgerald Park next Saturday and Sunday.
