Congratulations to all those who won at last night’s Irish Sponsorship Awards in the Round Room of the Mansion House. It was a night of celebration for brands, agencies and rights holders.

The Sponsorship Brand of the Year was won by Just Eat who doubled up by also collecting the Award for Best TV Sponsorship for their partnership with Love Island on Virgin Media One.

Entertainment for Business members SSE Airtricity and Three were to the fore picking up the award for Sports Event Sponrhip of the Year and Brand Sponsorship Team of the Year.

Aine Plunkett and Leanne Sheill picked up the former while Karl Donnelly, Gavin McAllister, Orla Lawlor and Louise Carey on hand to collect.

Live Nation carried off the Team Award in the Rights Holder category.

The Brand Fans, who were our hosts for the night landed the Best Arts and Cultural Sponsorship for the Seachtain na Gaeilge partnership with Energia.

The Irish language was also a winner in the Best low budget sponsorship category won by XL convenience stores for their partnership with Ros na Run on TG4.

Layla Healthcare’s City Spectacular was the winner of the best Entertainment Event Sponsorship while Playstival with the Happy Pear won the Innovation in Sponsorship Award.

Those who missed out last night will have been disappointed but the energy and effort that goes into sponsorship in Ireland is at an incredibly high level and we expect there will be more recognition at the European Sponsorship Awards early in the New Year.
