Each day this week as the clock counts down to the final series of Game of Thrones, we will bring you inside analysis on the business behind one of the most successful shows of all time.

This evening let’s have a look at the salaries earned by the main stars.

According to industry reports the top payment to cast members will not exceed $500,000 per episode, making it better value for the studios than most Hollywood blockbusters.

Kit Harrington, who plays Jon Snow is one of those at that top level. Up until this final season he was reported to be on $300,000 per episode.

Emilia Clarke, who won the role of Daenerys Targaryen only after the initial pilot was broadcast is on a similar amount as are Peter Dinklage and Lena Headley and her Brother / Lover in the show Nikolaj Coster Waldau.

The rest of the Stark children, played by Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams and Isaac Hempstead come in at under $200,000 but will still each clear ¢1 Million, unless of course they come to a grisly demise before the end.

Ireland’s Liam Cunningham has been with the show since the outset in 2012. In 2017 he was quick to dispel media reports that he and other stars were earning up to $2 million per episode.

Fans will certainly miss the show after the concluding scenes, though maybe not quite as much as the stars.
