Eastbound is a brand new festival being brought to life this week at venues across Dublin by Aiken Promotions.

The focus is wholly on new musical talent with 18 acts playing at a variety of venues across the city from tonight through Sunday.

They include Whelan’s, The Grand Social and the Workman’s Club.

The Festival is billed as   “capturing the spirit of new and breaking artists and capturing the imagination of a devoted, music-hungry city like Dublin and bringing it all together to create  meaningful beginnings.”

They are the kind of acts that might be performing on any given night, albeit in smaller venues, but bringing them together with smart branding, and making them accessible with ticket prices from €13.50 is an idea deserving of success.

Maisie Peters was one of the acts to feature on opening night
