Peter Kay tickets went on sale yesterday for  dates in Ireland at the SSE Arena in Belfast and the 3 Arena in Dublin and completely sold out within minutes.

Sunday is an unusual day to go on sale but that did not deter his legion of fans determined to see his first live stand-up tour since 2010.

Extra dates were added during the afternoon to try and satisfy demand but they were snapped up as well.

He will now play six dates in Belfast between 13th and 20th January 2019 and the same number in Dublin between February 1st and March 8th.

The full tour gets underway in Birmingham in April of 2018 and concludes in London’s O2 Arena in the middle of 2019.

His last tour in 2010 played to 1.2 million fans and still ranks as the biggest grossing comedy tour of all time in the UK.
