Bord na Mona’s 2017 Hearth Sessions kicked in in the Parlour at Whelan’s last night and the three pubs that will follow them with intimate live sessions featuring Little Hours, Stephanie Rainey and Ye Vagabonds have also been revealed.

All Tvvins kicked off the series to acclaim in Whelans and on social media last night and the rest of the concerts will take place through December at The Inn in Milltown, Co. Kildare; Egans Bar in Parkbridge, Co. Wicklow and Luker’s Bar at Shannonbridge, Co. Offaly.

The three were selected after publicans were invited to submit themselves into a competition which was then rolled out across social media.

The campaign was backed by the Vintners Federation of Ireland and the concerts will be by invitation to retain their intimacy but with tickets up for grabs on Facebook at the Bord na Mona page.

It’s a smart, well-integrated campaign and is being backed by significant investment by Bord na Mona.

In next week’s exclusive Big Interview on Entertainment for Business, we will talk with Karen Smyth, Marketing Manager at the company on why they have chosen to invest in intimate music and how the campaign is being brought to life.
