Three years to the day after it was first released, Beyoncé’s Lemonade album has made it onto Apple Music and Spotify.
Up until now the only way to hear the album, legally, was through buying the album or streaming via Tidal, the service owned by her husband Jay-Z.
Lemonade was also a movie, winning four Emmy Awards as well as being the best selling album of 2016.
It would appear that foregoing the revenue from the two biggest streaming services did little to harm her bank balance or her popularity.
It has been something of a Beyoncé takeover this past week with Netflix releasing her full-length documentary from last year’s Coachella Festival.
‘Homecoming’ is a pretty spectacular offering, mixing live footage from the whole show, intercut between yellow and pink outfits, and more from the rehearsals and her getting back into shape after giving birth to twins.
The reported value of her three project deal with Netflix is ¢60 million.
Very much a one-woman multimedia tour de force.
