Among the many festivals and forms of entertainment taking place this weekend, The Dublin Tall Ships will be one of the most visible.
The ships will be ailing up the Liffey and right past the offices of AIG who are backing this year’s event through an innovative partnership within the local community.
50 local trainees from within the Dublin North East Inner City have been crewing on the Tall ships racing over from Liverpool and arriving as part of the regatta coming into Dublin this afternoon.
“We work on a number of projects around the local community, including through our partnership with Dublin GAA and this is something additional which gives young people an opportunity to experience a side of life that would not normally be available to them,” said an AIG spokesperson speaking to Entertainment for Business.”
“We have been enjoying the magnificent sight of the Tall Ships gathering and are delighted to be part of such a great event.”
The Tall Ships Festival is making a return to the City after a gap of six years.
Sixteen ships will be moored along Sir John Rogersons Quay and Grand Canal Dock with the public being free to view them throughout.
